Moon Over Windows

Moab, Utah

Moon rising over North and South Windows in Arches National Park, Moab, Utah. Single exposure with a Canon zoom lens at 500mm and a 2X extender (with some additional cropping in post processing) from over 7 miles away. No part of the scene was fundamentally changed in editing other than cropping and basic adjustments to color, contrast, and luminosity. Lots of planning (and some luck) went into getting this shot since it required being in just the right spot (within feet) at just the right time (within seconds). The farther away from the landform you get, the larger the moon appears in relation. A long lens enabled me to zoom into this small faraway part of the scene and fill the frame with it. If you look closely, you can see people standing in the North Window arch on the left. Photo © copyright by Whit Richardson.

Acrylic

Acrylic

This is the ultimate way to display landscape photography. The photo is printed on a metallic photo paper, then face-mounted to 1/8” thick sheet of acrylic so you’re looking through the acrylic at your print. The print is then backed with either Dibond or acrylic depending on the lab I use.

Dibond Prints

The photo is first printed on professional quality metallic paper and then mounted to a 1/8” Dibond backing. Dibond is a 1/8” thick composite material consisting of two aluminum sheets enclosing a hard plastic core. Being lightweight and durable it is a great option for large-format prints. It is finished with a glossy or matte laminate to protect the print. The matte finish eliminates all glare and reflections and is my top choice for situations where glare is an issue.

Chromaluxe Metal Print

Metal prints are printed directly onto aluminum sheets, resulting in vibrant and durable pieces suitable for both home and commercial decor. They are easy to clean and are also temperature and moisture resistant. Finish options are glossy, semi-gloss, or matte. On the back will be a bow hanger for prints up to 20". Prints larger than 20" on the long side will have an inset subframe that creates the illusion that the print is floating off the wall. If glare and reflections are a concern, I would recommend the semi-gloss or matte finish.

Canvas

Canvas

Canvas prints work well for larger prints that will be viewed at a distance.
They provide a textured, canvas-like surface, giving them a tactile, painterly quality. Canvas works great for photos that have a lot going on, like a photo of a forest scene without sky. They are stretched over 1.5” wooden frames for a classic gallery-wrap look. The edges of the wrap are mirrored which means the sides of the canvas will reflect the outer edges of the image. This approach ensures the main image remains fully visible on the front, without any cropping or loss of important details on the edges.

Fine Art Print for Framing

Fine Art Print for Framing

Your photo is printed on Metallic photo paper and sent directly from one of the trusted labs I use. Metallic photo paper features a unique metallic finish, enhancing the visual impact of image. The print will come with a white border (outside the ordered size) which makes for easier matting, framing and handling. This is the print only, you will need to frame it yourself or work with your local picture framer. If you prefer a matte paper that can be arranged no problem.
